CnC: Critique and Criticism.

The Difference between Critique and Criticism
Criticism finds fault/Critique looks at structure
Criticism looks for what's lacking/Critique finds what's working
Criticism condemns what it doesn't understand/Critique asks for clarification
Criticism is spoken with a cruel wit and sarcastic tongue/Critique's voice is kind, honest, and objective
Criticism is negative/Critique is positive (even about what isn't working)
Criticism is vague and general/Critique is concrete and specific
Criticism has no sense of humor/Critique insists on laughter, too
Criticism looks for flaws in the writer as well as the writing/Critique addresses only what is on the page.

CnC is simple. Please Include the abbreviation "CnC" in your thread title, or in the post itself. Your post will then be subject to this code of conduct:

1: The first thing to remember is that the item being criticized is not you. It can be hard to accept criticism without feeling hurt, but this is a skill that can be learned and will help you to improve the quality of your work.

2: It is important to give every piece of feedback the benefit of the doubt if you are serious about improving.

3: It is safe to assume that the harsher the review, the higher the standard that you are being compared to. This isn't something to treat lightly. In fact, you should feel flattered, because any reviewer who takes the time to compare you to that high standard probably believes you can achieve exactly that.

4: Any personal attacks can be disregarded. Don't reward them by replying or making a big deal out of their stupidity. If things start getting out of hand, one of the friendly GFXLABZ Staff is sure to step in and put a stop to it.

5: Opinions are allowed, but please follow your statements with offerings of how you would achieve a better vision or fix a certian thing.

6: Keep in mind these are peoples visions, they seem them differently and if they are proud of what they have made, don't force them to consider otherwise. We welcome all to the family and want to help everyone achieve higher standards!

WARNING: TO THOSE THAT POST STUFF LIKE "ya, that's cool" Your posts/post count is subject to removal. REPEATED offences can lead to account suspension.
